Exposed before the Chicago City Council, over $51 Million US Dollars was diverted from the Opioid Settlement Fund, a budget for the people of Chicago and was entirely diverted to migrants. @PRaeBeh opens with a quote of 1 Timothy highlighting the complexities of the implications for the clear misappropriation of funds away from the tax payers of Chicago to migrants, not only taking from the people of Chicago, but to their clear and evident detriment as she goes on to explain
"but if any provide not for his own, and specifically for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." 1 Timothy 5:8
For, by draining the allocated budget to support more net-negative migrants the tax payers of Chicago were left exposed and underfunded in crucial budgets such as the (now absent) $51 million that was to go to opioid and addictions.
She goes on to recount the story of Amaria Jones who was shot and killed in her mothers living room at 13 years old in 2020 whilst showing her mother a TikTok dance. The mother of Amaria would then go on to be arrested and charged for possession years later, having not been able to get the support to grieve for her child.
How is it that we can give millions upon millions of dollars going to migrants whilst people, families, generations, of Chicago tax payers are not able to access the essentials that they need?
